DESTINATION AIRPORT
Xoxocotlán International Airport (OAX)

Located approximately 20 minutes from the historic city center.
ROUTING INFORMATION
The most common routing is via Mexico City (MEX), with frequent direct flights to Oaxaca (OAX) operating approximately every 60 to 90 minutes.
Domestic carriers operating this route include:
Aeroméxico, Volaris and VivaAerobus.​

We recommend securing your flights as early as possible.
The Mexico City–Oaxaca connection in particular fills quickly around this time of year, and November is one of the busiest periods in the city.

IMPORTANT
There are 2 airports in Mexico City:
Benito Juárez International Airport — MEX
The main airport is centrally located in the city. This is where the majority of international flights arrive, and where most connections to Oaxaca depart from.
Felipe Ángeles International Airport — NLU
Located approximately 50km north of the city centre. Far fewer airlines operate from here, and it has limited onward connections to Oaxaca.
We would recommend traveling in and out of MEX - Benito Juárez International Airport, as it is a better situated airport. Do check carefully which airport your flight arrives into, as transferring between the two is not straightforward and would make a same-day connection to Oaxaca very difficult.

FLIGHT ROUTES
UNITED STATES
Guests travelling from the United States are well served, with several convenient routing options depending on your departure city. The most common connection is via Mexico City, but direct or one-stop options to Oaxaca via Houston, Dallas, and Los Angeles are also available on major carriers.

From New York (JFK / EWR)
Connect via Mexico City with Aeroméxico, or via Houston with United Airlines. Both are reliable one-stop options with good frequency.
Recommended: Aeroméxico (JFK–MEX–OAX) or United (EWR–IAH–OAX)
From Miami (MIA / FLL)
Connect via Mexico City with Aeroméxico, via Houston with United, or via Dallas with American Airlines.
Recommended: Aeroméxico (MIA–MEX–OAX) or American Airlines (MIA–DFW–OAX)
From Los Angeles (LAX)
Los Angeles has a direct non-stop flight to Oaxaca, making it one of the most straightforward journeys on the list. Additional one-stop options via Mexico City with Aeroméxico and via Dallas with American Airlines are also available if the direct flight is full around the wedding dates.
Recommended: Direct (LAX–OAX) or Aeroméxico (LAX–MEX–OAX)
From Denver (DEN)
Connect via Dallas with American Airlines or via Houston with United. Both are simple one-stop itineraries with strong daily frequency.
Recommended: American Airlines (DEN–DFW–OAX) or United (DEN–IAH–OAX)
From Chicago (ORD)
Connect via Mexico City with Aeroméxico or via Dallas with American Airlines.

FROM THE BAHAMAS
Unfortunately, none of the airlines offer connections and a way to book the whole way through, so an individual booking from Nassau to Florida is required.

Numerous morning flight options provide substantial time to be able to connect with flights from Miami or Fort Lauderdale via Dallas, Houston and Mexico City.

Guests travelling from Canada can connect through Mexico City with flights direct to Oaxaca.

From Toronto (YYZ)
Aeroméxico operates flights from Toronto to Mexico City with onward connections to Oaxaca, making it possible to book the full journey in one itinerary. United via Houston and American Airlines via Dallas are alternatives if direct Mexico City availability is limited around the wedding dates.

From Montreal (YUL)
Connect via Mexico City with Aeroméxico, or via a US hub such as Houston with United or Dallas with American Airlines.

From Vancouver (YVR)
Connect via Mexico City with Aeroméxico or via Dallas with American Airlines. Aeromexico offers good frequency on the Vancouver–Mexico City route making this a reliable option.

EUROPE
The vast majority of routes go via Mexico City, which has frequent onward flights to Oaxaca operating throughout the day, roughly every 60 to 90 minutes. We recommend booking your Mexico City to Oaxaca connection with as much time as possible between flights, ideally a minimum of three hours, to allow for immigration, baggage collection, and the domestic terminal transfer.

From Italy
The most reliable routing is from Rome (FCO) or Milan (MXP) to Mexico City, then onward to Oaxaca.
Recommended Airlines: Aeroméxico (FCO-MEX) + Aeroméxico or Volaris (MEX–OAX)

The most direct routing is London to Mexico City, with onward connection to Oaxaca.
British Airways flies direct from Heathrow to Mexico City, connecting onward with Aeroméxico, Volaris, or VivaAerobus to Oaxaca. American Airlines via Dallas and United Airlines via Houston are also strong options,

Although taxis are readily available on arrival at Xoxocotlán International Airport, due to it being a busy time of year, we recommend arranging your transfer in advance.
