Día de los Muertos in Oaxaca is unlike anywhere else on earth, a celebration where time softens and the veil between worlds grows thin. The city becomes a tapestry of marigolds, candles, music, and memory. It is not a time of mourning, but a homecoming: a joyful invitation for spirits to return to join the living in warmth, remembrance, and love. In Oaxaca, Día de los Muertos feels as though the city itself is breathing - alive with history, heart, and an ancient beauty that stays with you long after the last candle flickers out.
Below is the guest itinerary for those who are joining us for the Day of the Dead weekend in Oaxaca, ahead of the wedding. Join as much or as little as you like - everything is optional. Timings and a few activities are still being finalised; anything marked "TBC" will be updated as details are confirmed.

Please note that accommodation in Oaxaca City during this period is very difficult to secure. If you have not confirmed accommodation, please let us know and we will assist as best we can but please do not book travel until your accommodation is secured.

DAY 1
SATURDAY
OCTOBER 31st
Evening activity: Day of the Dead parade, followed by drinks and dinner in the city centre.

18:00 - Parade begins. Traditional Día de los Muertos parade throughout the city of Oaxaca.

18:30 - Group Drinks & Dinner at Romeo's, City Centre - with a view of the city and easy access to the street for the parade. Set menu pre-arranged. Price to follow.
DAY 2
SUNDAY
NOVEMBER 1st
Brunch at Criollo, afternoon exploring Oaxaca City, evening visit to Jalatlaco, dinner at Brío.

11:00 - Brunch at Criollo. A renowned Mexican restaurant which hosts a festive brunch with traditional Mexican dancing and music in the backyard.

13:00 - Free time. Relax, visit the city, or cultural activity.

18:00 - Visit to Jalatlaco & the cemetery. Tapetes, parades, street art. A ten-minute walk from the centre - one of the oldest and most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city, with some of the best ofrendas during Day of the Dead.

Dinner Option One: (with Shirley & Luca) dinner at Brío, roof terrace, Michelin-praised restaurant with fantastic cocktails.

MONDAY

Exploring Oaxaca and Day of the Dead Party.

18:00 until late - Day of the Dead Private Party hosted by Shirley & Luca

Dress Code: Day of the Dead. Moodboard below. .
Professional Day of the Dead makeup will be available at your accommodation or at the venue. Authentic costume accessories - including traditional, locally made floral headdresses — are available to pre-order. Vendor details to follow. A mood board has been created to help inspire your look.
For guests arriving November 2nd: the organizational team will assist with transport from the airport to your accommodation and then to the party. Makeup will be provided for you at the party venue.
